The Post Implementation Review is one of the last administrative tasks associated with completion of a project. It is an assessment and review of the completed working solution. While often viewed as a nuisance, conducting and documenting the PIR is an essential component of a project as:
1) It checks which benefits (including those set out in the business case) have been achieved;
2) It identifies opportunities for further improvement, and;
3) Without it, it is difficult to demonstrate worthwhile investment in a project;
